China Targets Montana Families With Even More Tariffs, But Matt Rosendale Fails to Stand Up For Them
Today China announced an additional $60 billion in retaliatory tariffs sure to keep squeezing Montana workers and farmers — and Matt Rosendale is yet again failing to stand up for Montana.
President Trump is punishing farmers, manufacturers, and small businesses in Montana with lower profits and higher costs. Montanans deserve candidates who will stand up for them against reckless policies, but Montana Senate candidate Matt Rosendale is continuing to back Trump. Meanwhile, Trump’s trade conflict is “sowing havoc in farmers’ financial planning.” $20 million in Montana exports and over 140,000 Montana jobs are threatened by a trade war.
After Trump visited Montana in July, Rosendale fully leaned into his reckless policies, saying he’s “going to help the President pursue and achieve these good policies that are expanding our economy and protecting our nation.”
That’s a gamble Montana families can’t afford.
“The clock has run out for Montanans whose livelihoods are at risk. Can Matt Rosendale continue to look Montana farmers in the eye and call these reckless behaviors ‘good policies’?” said American Bridge spokesperson Amelia Penniman.“With every passing week that Rosendale fails to stand up for Montanans, more families are reeling from the impact of this disastrous policy.”
